Getting around Brisbane

Translink Integrated Network
Public Transport in South East Queensland is run by the Translink integrated network. Public transport options within Brisbane include: Trains, Buses, CityCat Ferries, and Cross River Ferries. To use public transport you need a contactless GO Card, which can be obtained from train station ticket offices, most Newsagents and any 7-11. If you are taking the Airtrain from the airport to the city then you can obtain a GO Card from the Airtrain Ticket Office at the Train Station. Load your Go Card with appx $45 AUD, this should cover a return fare from the airport to the city plus the public transportation fares to attend the Sunday workshops at UQ.

If you took a cab to the city: The outlet closest to the BCEC selling GO Cards is the South Brisbane Train Station. In the City Centre, visit the EzyMart convenience store in the underground concourse level of the King George Square Busway Station, or Rankins on the Mall (in the centre of the Queen Street Mall). In this case you need to load only $10 on your GO Card to attend the Sunday workshops at UQ. You need to “touch-on” when boarding a transport vehicle and “touch-off” when leaving. For more information about Brisbane’s public transport system, including a journey planner, timetables, fares, how to obtain/use a GO Card, and network/route maps, visit: www.translink.com.au. You can also download the free “MyTransLink” app to your mobile phone.
